FAQ

Questions from every team.

The basicsWhat it is and how it works

What is RFID asset tracking?

RFID asset tracking uses tags and readers to identify and locate items automatically, without line of sight, so counts and audits take minutes instead of days.

Do I need RFID, NFC or QR codes?

It depends on cost, range and speed. RFID suits large volumes and fast scanning, NFC suits tap-to-read at close range, and QR codes are the lowest-cost option for simple tracking. Tag’n’Track supports all three.

Can the platform connect to our ERP?

Yes. The platform offers REST APIs and connectors so tracking data can sync with your ERP and other business systems.

Do you provide tagging and installation?

Yes. Services include tag encoding and printing, on-site asset tagging, implementation and ongoing support.

For top managementVisibility, progress and decisions

How does Tag’n’Track support our digital transformation and Qatar National Vision 2030 goals?

It replaces paper and spreadsheet registers with one live record of your assets, stock, files and people, and automates routine counts, checks and approvals. Dashboards give leaders the picture without chasing reports, in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

How much time do we lose searching for assets, stock and files?

Missing items cost time every week, because the record says one thing and the shelf says another. Each scan updates an item’s location, so people go straight to it instead of searching. In the pilot we set a baseline for your site, so you can measure the time saved before you scale.

Can we show regulators and auditors what we hold and where it is?

Yes. Each scan updates the item’s record, so you can show where it is, who holds it and what happened to it. That gives audit, safety and regulatory reviews a clear trail.

How do we start without disrupting operations?

Start with a 15-minute tracking assessment, then run a pilot at one site and scale in phases. Our partner Power Flow Company in Dammam implements and supports in English and Arabic.

For administrators, IT and complianceHosting, security, approvals and integration

Where is our data hosted, and can it stay in Qatar?

You choose: cloud, hybrid or on-premise. On-premise keeps data on your own servers. Your legal team should confirm the transfer rules in Law No. 13 of 2016 for your case.

Does the platform help with Qatar’s data protection law and the NCSA information assurance standard?

It supports your work: flexible hosting, access by role, and control over what personal data is collected. It does not certify you. Your security and legal teams stay responsible for mapping it to Qatar’s data protection law and the NCSA information assurance standard.

Is the RFID hardware approved for use in Qatar?

Radio equipment is regulated in Qatar. The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) approves it. We confirm the approval status of readers and tags before you order them.

Does it connect to our ERP and e-invoicing?

The platform offers REST APIs and connectors for ERP and other systems. E-invoicing is coming to Qatar, so keep your ERP or invoicing system as the place that issues invoices. Tag’n’Track feeds it accurate stock and asset data.

How do we control who can see and change records?

Access is set by role, and every scan adds to the item’s history, so you can review what happened and when.

For maintenance managersUptime, inspections and field work

Can technicians use it on sites with weak coverage?

Yes. The mobile app supports scanning, offline work and alerts, so work continues in plants, warehouses and remote sites and syncs when the connection returns.

How does it help us plan and prove maintenance?

Facility Management tracks buildings, rooms, equipment and maintenance. FormsFlow opens the right inspection form when a technician scans a tag, and Process Automation routes the follow-up steps. The AI Module adds predictions and anomaly detection.

How do we avoid breakdowns and delays from missing or unchecked equipment?

Each asset has a record with its location, owner, service history and next check. Alerts flag overdue inspections and items that leave where they should be, so problems show before they stop work.

Will tags survive heat, dust and outdoor use?

There are tag types and mounting methods for heat, dust and outdoor use. We recommend the right one for each asset and confirm it in the pilot before you scale.

For financeRegisters, audits and return

Does it help with asset registers and audits?

It keeps a live register with location, custodian and condition for every asset, so counts and reconciliation are quick. Finance and audit get a record they can reconcile.

How does it reduce lost or unrecorded assets?

Scans compare what the register says with what is physically there, so missing or unrecorded items show up in the next count rather than at year end.

Can it simplify year-end counts and insurance or disposal decisions?

The register shows what you hold, where it is and its condition, so a year-end count becomes a scan instead of a manual tally. Each item’s history supports insurance and disposal decisions.

How do we measure the return?

Gains come from fewer lost assets, faster counts and less manual entry. In the pilot we set a baseline for your site, so you can compare results before you scale.

For end usersDay-to-day use and training

What does a worker do day to day?

Scan a tag with a phone or handheld reader. The app shows the item, the task and the form to complete, then the record updates.

Is it difficult to learn?

Scanning a tag is the main step. Most people start after a short hands-on session, and we train your team during the pilot.

Is training and support available in Arabic?

Yes. Our partner Power Flow Company in Dammam implements and supports in English and Arabic.

What happens to attendance and visitor data?

You decide what is collected and who can see it. Attendance and visitor data are personal data under Law No. 13 of 2016, so tell staff what is recorded and why.
